Valeriya, Product Designer (she/her)

I’m currently studying Arts and Technology at SFU, remotely completing my final term while based in Toronto. Previously, I’ve worked as an Interactive Designer at UBC CPD in Vancouver, BC, gaining hands-on experience in instructional design, UI/UX design, web design/development, and visual art.

Throughout my academic and professional journey, I’ve built experience across cognitive psychology, marketing, human–computer interaction, interactive systems, and technical foundations. I integrate these perspectives in my product design practice, balancing human cognition, system constraints, and how design decisions translate into real-world outcomes.

My goal is to create products that are intentional, usable, and meaningfully connected to the people they are designed for.

A little more about me...

As a Korean, born and raised in a small town in the Far East of Russia and moved to Canada 10 years ago, I hold a unique combination of 3 different cultures which is often expressed in my art/design and the way I do things. Outside of school and work, I love cooking, traveling, going for long walks, and drawing whenever I have time and inspiration. I also help my mom manage her chocolate shop’s digital presence, including the website and Instagram.
